Bus Shelters

Published: 30 May 2020

Here are the types of Bus Shelters that have been agreed for the various locations throughout the village at pick up points chiefly for school children catching the school bus to Cromwell Community College, although where appropriate can also be used by service bus users, particularly outside The Rose & Crown where the Parish Council has funded the provision of a shelter for this purpose and at the junction of Wisbech Road/Station Road.

The Halton Anti-Vandal Shelter 2.5m wide by 1.3m overhang and should be installed mid June 2020

This type of shelter will be located in Charlemont Drive close to the entrance to the estate and as close to the existing pickup point by the school bus as possible - in dark grey

Outside the Primary School (two side by side) - in mid blue

Outside the Rose & Crown - in dark green

At a later date close to the fire station on Westfield Road - two of these shelters side by side in red - delayed due to Covid19 pandemic restrictions undertaking the necessary groundworks.

In the High Street (opposite the former cafe) but without the polycarbonate back to comply with visibility regulations - the frame will be in black, size is 5.1m x 1.0m, installed mid June 2020.

On the corner of Wisbech Road / Station Road

The Cambridge Junior Shelter (but with no cycle racks) in dark green 5.1m x 3.2m installed early July 2020. Groundworks will be completed at a later date as soon as possible following the lifting of works restrictions imposed by the Covid 19 pandemic.

A shelter at the existing pick up point further along Station Road and one at Fallow Corner Drove will not be provided at this time as no suitable site has been identified or one that meets health & safety considerations.
