Manea Fire Station Closure

Published: 05 February 2024

Last Monday Area Commander Stuart Smith and two colleagues from Cambs Fire and Rescue Service attended our Parish Council meeting to share more information about the plan to close our fire station.

There were some excellent points raised by members of the public and councillors. I do not feel that our concerns were allayed, losing our station will leave our village worse off.

There is good news. The recruitment and training ban for our station has been lifted and if we can get enough additional crew members there is a good chance our station will stay open.

If you are looking for a new challenge and you are based in Manea within five minutes of our station then being an on call firefighter could suit you. More information regarding the role can be found here…

If you’d like to know more please reach out to the parish council via bbonos@manea-pc.gov.uk or call in at the station on a Thursday night.

We will be planning some additional recruitment events in the near future to reach more of our community.
