Ann Desborough

The Parish Council were saddened to hear of the recent passing of former Parish Councillor Ann Desborough.

Ann served our village as a PC member for 20 years, many of those spent as Vice Chair. During that time, she gained a reputation as a straight talking but fair and diligent member.

Ann was also Manea's deputy representative to the Community Rail Partnership and worked hard to try and improve our rail service, which she took a keen interest in as her late husband was a former signalman at Manea Station.

After living in Manea for many years Ann recently moved to Hopton near Bury to be closer to her family. She was admitted to hospital just under two weeks ago and passed away a short time later.

The Parish Council observed a minute’s silence at our December meeting in remembrance.

Ann’s funeral will take place at March Crematorium on Monday 23rd December at 10:30am.

Her family are taking a collection for Magpas in Ann's memory.
